New Research from AERDF and ETS Reveals Decoding Threshold is a Key Barrier to Reading Proficiency in Older K-12 Students

Dr. Nabors Oláh is the Scientific Director for Assessment for Good, designing and leading the program’s research strategy. Prior to coming to AfG, her research led to the development of a suite of culturally relevant formative assessments in mathematics and the use of process data to better understand student performance on large-scale assessments. She spent two years as a Bill & Melinda Gates Strategic Data Fellow with the ninth-largest school district in the U.S. and has also conducted research in Hungary. She currently teaches research methods for the Mid-Career Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE).

Dr. Nabors Oláh received her doctorate in Human Development and Psychology and a Master’s in Methodology from Harvard University. She also has an M.S.Ed. in teaching from Penn GSE. In addition to speaking English, French, Russian, and Hungarian, she is now enjoying learning Spanish.
